Chris Hemsworth has been one of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s best casting choices when it comes to their superhero characters. The Australian actor’s god-like looks, coupled with his chiselled body, and blonde hair made him look nothing short of the Norse god of thunder.
After being a part of several ensemble films and four solo Thor films, the 39-year-old has now revealed that he still wants to play the character once again, provided Marvel calls him for another film. Hemsworth told Vanity Fair that he is open to returning as the son of Odin only “if there is something unique and fresh and unexpected to do”.

However, he also warned that if the fifth film does materialise, it will have to be a send off for his character. He said, “we’d probably have to close the book f I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably warrants that.”
Marvel characters that became popular with Thor- Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow, have died in the MCU. Hemsworth thinks his character too deserves a farewell if he is to wield Mjolnir once again. He said in the interview, “I feel like it’d probably be the finale, but that’s not based on anything anyone’s told me or any sort of plans,” further adding, “You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don’t know—am I at that stage? Who knows?”

Hemsworth also spoke about how he loved taking the character to different directions for the last two films- Ragnarok and Love and Thunder. He also said that playing a character for a long period of time gets boring if there is no scope for reinvention.
However, the question still remains about whether Hemsworth will be called back for a fifth film. Regarding this situation, the actor said, “I don’t know if I’m even invited back. But if I was, I think I would have to be a drastically different version in tone, and everything, just for my own sanity. […] Thor lost his mind on that last one, he’s got to figure it out now.”
