Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend are expecting another child nearly two years after the couple suffered a pregnancy loss.
Teigen announced her pregnancy on Instagram on Wednesday, posting two photographs of her baby bump. In a post that follows her miscarriage in 2020, she writes that joy has “filled our home and hearts again.”

“We have another on the way,” wrote the 36-year-old model and cookbook author, who shares two children — Luna and Miles — with Legend. She touched on her fertility journey and being too nervous to unveil her pregnancy.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.”

Teigen’s “blur of emotions” caption is most likely a reference to her pregnancy loss in September 2020, when she lost her son Jack at 20 weeks pregnant, as well as the barrage of negative press she experienced after being accused of cyberbullying Courtney Stodden and others in years-old tweets.
Furthermore, Teigen made her choice to stop consuming alcohol public just over a year ago. Teigen stated in a post last month, “I drank to end crazy anxiety that later mostly went away when I – get this – quit drinking! sigh. anyhow I feel really good.”

After both disclosed the loss of their son, Jack, at 20 weeks of her pregnancy, the couple released a heartbreaking post in 2020. She had been hospitalised for heavy bleeding prior to the miscarriage.
Teigen wrote in an essay the same year that physicians diagnosed her with a partial placental abruption. She urged others to share their stories and to “please be kind to those pouring their hearts out” at the time.
Teigen and Legend married in 2013.
