Last year in March, after the actor was hospitalised
with severe kidney issues, Shyam’s brother had appealed for monetary help as
they were struggling to pay bills on a regular basis, reports TOI.

After recovering, Shyam had to undergo dialysis on a
regular basis. During an interview some time ago, Shyam had said that even
though he was not doing well health-wise, he had taken up the role of Sajjan
Singh in Pratigya too because viewers loved his character and he did not want
to let his fans down in the second season.
