Country music icon Hank Williams Jr’s wife, Mary Jane, died on Tuesday at the age of 58 in Jupiter, Florida.
While the cause of death is not currently known, TMZ reported that Jane died of a blood clot arising out of complications associated with a medical procedure.

According to TMZ, which first broke the news of Mary Jane’s passing, the local police department in Jupiter received a call about a medical emergency from the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa at around 5pm local time on Tuesday.
Although authorities responded promptly and transported Mary Jane to a local hospital, the 58-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival. At the time of writing this article, Mary Jane was believed to have died of medical complications, and there have been no reports about suspected foul play.

Hank Williams Jr and Mary Jane, a former model for Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion, met at one of the musician’s concerts in the state of Washington in 1985. The couple then married in 1990, had two children together, and have been together ever since.
Although Williams Jr and Mary Jane briefly separated in 2007, they managed to salvage their marriage and celebrated their 21st marriage anniversary together in 2011.

The 58-year-old’s sudden death will come as a major shock to Williams Jr, who has already suffered irreparable losses: in August 2020, Katherine Williams-Dunning, one of their two children, died in a fatal car accident in Tennessee.
Mary Jane is directly survived by her other child with Williams Jr, Samuel Hank Williams, and by three grandchildren.
