When Las Vegas-based businessman Bill Foley bought AFC Bournemouth in a £120 million deal, Jordan joined him to become a minority stakeholder in the club. He became one of many American celebrities investing in European sports franchises.
Previously, Ryan Reynolds joined Rob McElhenney to part-own Wrexham AFC, Mindy Kaling bought a stake in Swansea City FC, Natalie Portman co-founded Angel City FC in July 2020, while Lebron James, as is widely known, has a stake in Liverpool FC.
AFC Bournemouth went two goals behind to the Merseyside team in the first half and never found a way back after that. Kai Havertz, the German striker, scored the first goal for Chelsea while Mason Mount, the English midfielder, netted the second one.
Jordan, an American actor, director, and producer, is best known for his performances as shooting victim Oscar Grant in the film Fruitvale Station (2013), boxer Donnie Creed in Creed (2015), and Erik Killmonger in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
