At the age of 17, Grohl replaced the band’s percussionist Kent Stax in the punk rock group Scream. After Scream disbanded in 1990, Grohl joined Nirvana as their percussionist. Grohl made his drumming debut on Nirvana’s second album, Nevermind (1991), which was a big hit all over the globe. Kurt Cobain’s murder in April 1994 caused Nirvana to break up, and Dave Grohl started the Foo Fighters as a solo endeavor.
