The release date of ‘The Green Knight’, starring British actor Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, and Sean Harris, has postponed due to the recent surge in coronavirus cases in the United Kingdom. It was scheduled to release on July 30.  The film will release as scheduled in the United States.

In the film, Dev Patel plays the role of Sir Gawain and Ralph Ineson plays the titular role of ‘The Green Knight’. A24 films released a minute-long video clip ‘Christ is Born’ on YouTube on Friday. The film is based on Arthurian Legend, a fantasy adventure film highly praised for its beautiful visuals, diverse story and fantastic performance by the cast.

“Sensual and earthy, #TheGreenKnight is a stunning Medieval tapestry brought to life. Dev Patel is haunting and enthralling in his portrayal of Sir Gawain. The film doesn’t wash over you, it hits you all at once and captures you. See this one on the biggest screen you can find,” wrote another user.

Another fan expressed his excitement for the movies releasing this weekend, “Decided to pre-order tickets for #TheGreenKnight rather than #JungleCruise. It’s really rude of Hollywood to release them the same weekend. Making me choose between different “WOO HOO” parts of my brain isn’t ok.”
