Fantasmic! will make its comeback to Disney‘s Hollywood Studios on November 3, 2022, the resort announced on Wednesday.

The show brings audience members into Mickey Mouse’s imagination for a larger-than-life show painted on a big canvas of swirling water overflowing with hilarious and thrilling surprises, including Maleficent, a 40-foot-tall dragon. Mickey harnesses the forces of good to defeat evil when Disney villains intrude on his fantasy and transform his dreams into nightmares.

The elaborate 29-minute evening show, which is a kaleidoscope of excitement with daring stunts, stunning special effects, and a stirring score inspired on vintage Disney animated pictures, is performed every night. During the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World, there are numerous new and returning live entertainment experiences that guests can take in, including Fantasmic!

Disney also provided some additional information regarding the new heroes sequence that will make its premiere with the show along with the return date.

Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Moana will all appear in this new segment, which replaces the previous Pocahontas scene. There will also be fresh technical improvements.

“Through this entire sequence, we go on a journey with our heroes. We see them faced with a decision, and how hard that can be for them, then watch as they find that strength within themselves to push through in a truly spectacular way,” says Matthew Hamel, show director for Disney Live Entertainment.

The new heroes sequence, according to Disney, “includes high-energy Aladdin chase with stunts never before seen on the Fantasmic! stage, a powerful scene with Elsa set to the song Show Yourself that is sure to thaw the most frozen of hearts, and stirring moments with Pocahontas, Moana and Mulan.”
