Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ is the second instalment which sees the titular Marvel hero try and save the day with help from Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and America Chavez, a new superhero.

It explores the idea of the Multiverse, first introduced in the Disney+ series, ‘Loki‘, and the movie ends with the trio managing to stop Wanda Maximoff from continuing down her dangerous path. As with all Marvel movies, the Doctor Strange sequel also comes with mid and post-credits scenes.

[Warning: Spoilers ahead]

A new sorceress appears

The mid-credit scene keeps to the storyline and shows a mysterious new sorceress, Clea appearing. Strange’s travels through the multiverse now threaten the existence of universes with barriers of worlds colliding.

As Doctor Strange is walking down a New York street, now accustomed to his Third Eye, a woman with long white hair, dressed in a purple uniform, appears and opens a portal for Strange to join her on a mission. The sorcerer happily accepts.

In the comics, Clea is a powerful magician who has teamed up with Strange on different occasions. She is expected to make a return in the next ‘Doctor Strange’ movie.

In the Marvel comics, Clea eventually takes on the title of Sorcerer Supreme and has helped Strange fight Dormammu. She’s also studied in the Sanctum Santorum, and over time, becomes the ruler of the Dark Dimension.

Curse of the Pizza Poppa

The end credits show a pizza cart owner finally stopping punching himself in the face, which is a carry-on from an earlier in-film joke where Strange had cursed a man who was hassling him and Chavez.
