Highly awaited movie ‘Dune’ got its first trailer release on Thursday that revealed the upcoming flick will hit the screens on October 22 this year. This was the first trailer of the movie that was unveiled in nearly a year.

The trailer gives viewers a hint of the movie’s theme, which seems to be in a sci-fi setting on a planet called Arrakis, also referred to as ‘the sandy world’ in the trailer.

The trailer, which is over three minutes long, shows the importance of a mysterious “spice” that appears to grant powers of interstellar travel. The “spice” also seems to be the key element on which the storyline of the upcoming movie is based.

Dune, which is being directed by renowned filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, is based on a science fiction novel written by Frank Herbert, according to reports from the Verge.

Actors like Timothee Chalamet, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard and Oscar Isaac seem to carry a substantial role in the movie.

However, starts like Zendaya, who is famous for her part in the recent Spiderman movies, former wrestler actor who plays Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Dave Bautista and Game of Thrones and Aquaman star Jason Mamoa seem to take the centre stage in the movie, which is scheduled to be released in October.

Fans of Warner Brother projects suspect that the upcoming movie ‘Dune’ could be the studio’s next big franchise, which currently being produced after joining hands with Legendary Pictures.

The studios are reportedly already making plans for making a prequel series of the movie called ‘ ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’ and a sequel too, which is likely to expand on the second half of the novels written by Frank Herbert, according to reports from the Verge.
