India celebrates the second most important festival of Islam today – Eid-ul-Adha or the festival of sacrifice. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the ease in lockdown, devotees are maintaining social distancing and wearing masks while going to the mosques to offer namaz.

To mark the festival, celebrities have extended their wishes to fans. They took to social media to wish people.

Actor Salman Khan posted a masked picture of himself, to remind people to follow COVID-19 guidelines. “Eid Mubarak,” he captioned the Twitter picture.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan wished fans even from the hospital, where he is undergoing COVID-19 treatment.

Actor-producer Priyanka Chopra wished on Twitter. Sharing a status, she wrote, “#EidMubarak to everyone celebrating all over the world. Hope it brings us blessings, happiness & peace.”

Eid-ul-Adha, commonly known as Bakrid marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. The festival is observed by sacrificing an animal, usually, a goat or a sheep, to prove love and devotion for Allah. The offering is then distributed among family, friends, and the poor.
