Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is not happy with what Amazon Prime has done with The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power. He has taken to Twitter to castigate the show, which is also the costliest TV series till date. Musk is of the opinion that “Tolkien is turning in his grave” with how the series has been panning out.

Musk’s criticism stems from how the show’s male characters have been written. In a reply to his own tweet, the 51-year-old multi-billionaire said, “Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice.”

The richest man on the planet did not stop here. In another follow-up reply, he posted a screenshot of a number of comments by a single account, saying, “And 90% of my comments are bots”, with a robot emoji at the end.

The feud between Musk and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has been going on for quite some time now. Musk had earlier called Bezos, who ranks second on the Bloomberg Billionaires’ List after him, a “copycat” when the latter announced his plans for launching internet satellites.

In 2019, Musk again tweeted “Putting the word ‘Blue’ on a ball is questionable branding” when Bezos announced Blue Moon, a lunar-landing spacecraft that was created by his aerospace company, Blue Origin.

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power has earned positive reviews from critics, but audience reaction to the show has been mixed. Some have accused it of following the path of Game of Thrones while others have not been impressed with its “slow start”.

Despite Musk’s criticism, Rings of Power has been the biggest hit of Amazon Prime Video ever. The show managed to rake in 25 million views on the day it was released. There will be a total of eight episodes in the first season of the series, which will end on October 14.
