Black Widow is now streaming in selected countries. But did you know Emily Blunt was offered the role of Black Widow before Scarlett Johansson? However, Emily turned down the offer due to some reasons. In a recent interview, Emily explained why she turned down the role of Black Widow, even though it was offered to her first.

Blunt recently revealed that she was originally contracted to do Gulliver%u2019s Travels which she didn%u2019t want to do when she spoke to Howard Stern. According to Blunt, she appeared in Gulliver%u2019s Travels not because she wanted to be in the film, but because she had a contractual obligation to do so. She also described that it was like a heartbreak because she took such pride in the decisions that she makes, and they mean so much to her and the films that she does, as reported by News18.

According to News18 reports, she clarified that she did not consider playing a superhero beneath her. Emily also mentioned that she loves Iron Man and when she was offered Black Widow, she was obsessed with the movie. Emily said she always wanted to work beside Robert Downey Jr. but she was not sure if superhero movies were for her. Emily told Howard, %u201CThey%u2019re not up to my alley. I don%u2019t like them. I really don%u2019t.%u201D

But that does not mean that Emily is not interested in action-packed movies. She has worked with Tom Cruise in The Edge of Tomorrow. In the end, the role of Black Widow eventually went to Scarlett Johansson who did an amazing job in the movie. 

The movie is enjoying a splendid run at the box office not only in the domestic market but also overseas. The movie includes stars David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz.
