Louie Anderson, best known for his role in ‘Baskets’ which won him three Emmy nods, has died at the age of 68. He was battling cancer and his condition had worsened, as per Pauly Shore, the actor and comedian, who visited him at the Las Vegas hospital.

Shore had stated, “I say this with a heavy heart just left the hospital in Las Vegas where Louie Anderson his sisters and close friend were kind enough to let me say my goodbyes”.

Now, the news of his death has emerged, and Louie is said to have died of cancer-related complications. The comedian, who made his debut alongside Johhny Carson in ‘The Tonight Show’ in 1984, thereon went to touch hearts with various performances. These include the fan favourite cartoon, ‘Life with Louie’, which won him two Daytime Emmy Awards.

Naturally, the internet is mourning his loss, as is evident from the barrage of tweets that have started pouring in. 

Understandably, the day has been tough for many, with the death of both Meat Loaf and Anderson. 

Another fan reminisced the masterful performance in ‘Baskets’ which shall remain etched in viewers’ minds for a long time. 

It is clear that Louie touched many lives, especially for kids who grew up watching the cartoon where he voiced the animated version of himself. 

After the laughter, come tears. One fan has thanked the legend for all the times he made us laugh. 

Another tweet shows a picture of Anderson along with the now-deceased Bob Saget. Turns out that 2022 is shaping up to be a pretty tough year. 

Anderson has had several television appearances over the years. He hosted the revival of ‘Family Feud’ from 1999 to 2002, and also showed up in numerous late-night talk shows and comedy standups.

Among his television series appearances are ‘Scrubs’ and ‘Touched by an Angel’. His big-screen appearances include the 1988 comedy, ‘Coming to America’, starring Eddie Murphy, and Anderson was also part of the sequel to the film, which released in 2021.
