Enola Holmes 2: All you need to know

The Enola Holmes franchise is back with Enola Holmes 2. The series is an extension of Sherlock Holmes, which is a creation of author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Millie Bobby Brown plays the role of Enola Holmes, the youngest member of the Holmes family who has to establish herself as a capable detective while competing against her brother Sherlock (portrayed by Henry Cavill) and Mycroft, both of whom appear in Enola Holmes.

The film series is based on Nancy Springer’s “The Enola Holmes Mysteries” – a young adult fiction book series.

Release Date

Enola Homes 2 is scheduled to release on November 4.

Cast

Apart from Brown and Cavill, the film will also feature Louis Partridge as Viscount Tewkesbury; Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade; Susie Wokoma as Edith; Helena Bonham Carter as Viscount Tewkesbury; and David Thewlis and Sharon Duncan-Brewster in other roles, among others.

Plot

In the first movie, Enola Holmes was seen looking for her mother Eudoria Holmes played by Helena Bonham Carter. The journey that Enola took to find her mother was embedded with challenges and obstacles for the young detective to overcome.

The mystery that will be solved in the sequel is labeled to be of “historic proportions”, by Netflix, and will require two Holmes to deal with, suggesting that Sherlock will have a more definite and unmatched role to play.

After successfully solving her case in Enola Holmes, in the second film of the franchise Enola decides to follow the footsteps of her brother and set up her own agency. However, she soon realizes that life is not very simple for a female detective-for-hire. As she was about to give up her job, a poor matchstick girl gives Enola her first real job – the search for her missing sister.

Teaser

A playful teaser was uploaded by Netflix about a month before the official trailer of the movie came out. The poster featured the main characters of the film trying to hide in plain sight, as they were in a crowded area.

Harry Bradbeer, the director of episodes of Fleabag, Killing Eve and Ramy, is returning as the director of the Enola Holmes franchise.

Trailer

The trailer of Enola Holmes 2 was published during TUDUM, Netflix’s global fan event.

The trailer depicts Enola attempting to escape her brother, Sherlock, in the aftermath of the first film. While the two continue working on their separate mysteries, something dark appears to connect the cases. We can’t wait to witness the drama that will take place on November 4.
