The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid at Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli’s residence in Mumbai on Saturday evening and took him into custody after a small amount of drugs was recovered, reports said. This comes two days after the arrest of TV actor Gaurav Dixit by the central anti-drugs agency.

According to reports, the raid, led by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, lasted for more than six hours and a small amount of drugs was recovered from his home. The raid was conducted following the arrest of a drug peddler who allegedly supplies drugs to Indian film and television personalities. During interrogation, the peddler allegedly revealed some information on the basis of which former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant’s Mumbai residence was raided.

“After the raid, actor Armaan Kohli gave ambiguous answers to questions put up by NCB. He was taken to custody for questioning at the NCB office,” NCB Zonal Director (Mumbai) Sameer Wankhede said, Times Now reported.

This is not the first time the ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ actor has been embroiled in a controversy.  In 2018, he was arrested by the excise department for allegedly possessing 41 bottles of scotch whiskey at his residence.

The same year, Armaan, who has starred in films such as Dushman Zamana, Anaam, Qahar, and Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, was booked for physically assaulting his girlfriend and live-in partner Neeru Randhawa. After absconding for over a week, the actor was finally taken into custody in Lonavala and brought to court. But, later Neeru withdrew her case against him.

Meanwhile, talking about the drugs case, NCB arrested television actor Gaurav Dixit in the matter on Friday. The actor was reportedly absconding since April after his name cropped up during the questioning of actor Ejaz Khan, who was taken into custody earlier this year. The NCB raided his residence and had then found narcotics at his residence. Just before the raid, Gaurav and his his Dutch girlfriend had fled the building.

“We had been looking for him and he was arrested on Friday. He will be produced in court for custody,” an NCB officer said.
