Fans are celebrating 14 years of Ram Charan in the Telugu film industry. Since his debut as the leading actor in Chirutha in 2007, Ram Charan has starred in some of Telugu cinema’s biggest hits. His second film, the 2009 fantasy action film Magadheera directed by SS Rajamouli, held the record of being the highest-grossing Telugu film till 2013 with a worldwide boxoffice collection of IN150 crore. Magadheera also earned Ram Charan his first of three Filmfare awards and ran for over 700 days at a theatre in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Further success followed with Racha in 2012, Naayak in 2013, Yevadu in 2014, Dhruva in 2016 and his highest-grosser Rangasthalam in 2018.

On the work front, Ram Charan will reunite with Kiara Advani for the Shankar-directed SVC 50. The two last acted together in Vinaya Vidheya Ramaa.  He will be seen in a leading role in the period action drama RRR alongside N T Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris.

The period action drama helmed by S S Rajamouli will also star  N T Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris in lead roles. Several posters and teasers of the movie have already been released and have managed to create a buzz among the viewers.

Considered among Tollywood‘s highest-paid actors, Ram Charan has featured twice–2013 and 2016– on the Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list. Born on March 27, 1985 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, as Ram Charan Tej Konidela.  Son of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan is also related to prominent Telugu cinema such as Pawan Kalyan, Nagendra Babu, Allu Aravind, Allu Ramalingaiah, and Allu Arjun.

In 2016, Ram Charan established his own production house, the Konidela Production Company and also owns the polo team Hyderabad Polo and Riding Club. Ram Charan also co-owns Hyderabad-based airline company TruJet obstacle course series, Devil’s Circuit.

He has been married since 2012 to Upasana Kamineni. The pair were engaged in Hyderabad on December 1, 2011.
