WWE champion and American actor, John Cena took to social media and apologised for calling Taiwan a country. In a video clip, wrestler-turned-actor John Cena is seen apologising to the Chinese viewers and asked for forgiveness. He said, “I must say that now, very importantly, I love and respect China and Chinese people.”

He further added, “I did many, many interviews for Fast & Furious 9, and I made a mistake during one interview.”

Taiwan is a part of Beijing and it might rage diplomatic attempts if the island is regarded as an independent nation.

As soon as John Cena’s apology came in, various social media users accepted his apology with an open heart and said that he might have been guided by misinformation.

Few other users took to social media and said, “ Please say Taiwan is part of China in Chinese, or we won’t accept it.”

Fast and Furious was scheduled to release on May 19 in Taiwan but due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the release of the movie was postponed.

 Finally, Fast and Furious 9 was released on May 21 in China and gained an amount of $148 million, reported Global Times newspaper.
