Bollywood actor Kajol is known for her outstanding performances and her contribution to the Hindi film industry. She has been an integral part of every 90s kid’s childhood.

Kajol took over Bollywood with her strong presence, lively personality, and on-screen charisma. With her expressive eyes and easy-going attitude, the actor has impressed innumerable fans.

Starting with the 1992 movie ‘Bekhudi’, she’s had an extraordinary journey, to say the least. And up until the last time Kajol was seen on the big screen in ‘Dilwale’ in 2015, there’s no denying that her stardom isn’t going anywhere either.

On her 46th birthday, let’s take a look at some of her best films:

Baazigar

This was Kajol’s second film and her first major blockbuster. The movie brought together the iconic pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol – the Jodi which remains one of our all-time favourites. In the movie ‘Baazigar’ Kajol played Priya, the girl who falls for the guy who is out to destroy her father (SRK).

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

If not for Raj and Simran, we probably wouldn’t even know what it’s like to fall in love. In the movie, Raj, played by Shah Rukh Khan fancies himself as a player till he meets Simran, played by Kajol on a trip, and is smitten by her. Raj tries to win over Simran’s family so the couple can marry, but Simran’s father has long since promised her hand to his friend’s son. The movie was Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut. DDLJ is also the film that won Kajol her first Filmfare Best Actress Award.

Ishq

Directed by Indra Kumar, Ishq stars Ajay Devgn, Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Kajol in the lead roles. This film is considered to be Kajol’s major hit with Devgn. She is known for her perfect comic timings. The actor plays a middle-class girl Kajal, who falls in love with a rich man, Ajay. However, the latter’s father deceives and tries to separate the lovers. This film is a rollercoaster ride –the first half loaded with comedy-drama and the second half is all about suspense, romance, and heartbreak.

Yeh Dillagi

This is
probably the only Bollywood film in which Kajol is paired opposite Akshay
Kumar. This movie was highly successful at the box office. Kajol plays the role
of a fun-loving and bubbly woman, Sapna. Later on, she leaves the city to
become rich and successful. After some time, Vijay (Akshay Kumar) and Vicky
(Saif Ali Khan) fall in love with her (they both are brothers).
