On Monday, the first look poster for Karthi’s next film, Japan, was released. The poster depicts Karthi in an unusual avatar, implying that his character has a penchant for luxury

Karthi is seen in the poster resting on his couch after what appears to be a wild party. Behind him is a gold-dressed portrait of himself. He wields a gold-plated machine gun on one hand and a blingy 3D model of the globe on the other. Karthi’s character appears to have grandiose delusions.

“Excited to start this journey of a quirky guy! #Japan – Made in India,” as he shared the first look poster on Twitter, Karthi tweeted.

Cast

Karthi, who is currently riding high on the success of films such as Ponniyin Selvan – 1 and Sardar, will star in Japan. Dream Warrior Pictures launched the film, which would be Karthi’s 25th, today.

Japan, directed by Joker creator Raju Murugan, stars Anu Emmanuel as the female lead. Sunil, a Telugu actor, will make his Tamil debut in the film, which also stars filmmaker Vijay Milton.

Ravi Varman directed the film, Philomin Raj edited it, and Anbariv choreographed the action sequences.

The film is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures’ S R Prakash Babu and S R Prabhu and features music by GV Prakash Kumar. Notably, this is their sixth film with Karthi, following Saguni, Kashmora, Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, Kaithi, and Sultan.

Plot

The plot is currently unknown, but the film’s poster suggests that Karthi will play the titular character named Japan.

Karthi appears to play the role of a wealthy youngster who is spoiled to the extreme.

Release Date

Although no official release date has been announced, the film is expected to be released in October 2023. In addition to Tamil, the film will be released in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam dubbings.
