Florence Pugh and Zach Braff have ended their relationship, the Little Women actress announced.
“We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” the 26-year-old actress said in a cover story for Harper’s Bazaar September ICONS issue. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that,”
The two dated for about three years, after making their relationship public in 2019. Here’s a timeline of their relationship.
August 2018: Zach and Florence had their first social media interactions as the former praised the actress’ performance in the 2016 period drama Lady Macbeth on Twitter.

“I watched an incredible film last night that I cannot stop thinking about: ‘Lady Macbeth’ starring @Florence_Pugh . Beautifully directed, shot, acted etc,” he writes. “It’s very upsetting, so be forewarned. Florence is a movie star.”
January 2019: Zach visited Florence’s hometown of Oxford, England, giving rise to dating rumors. However, the duo did not confirm their relationship at the time.
March 2019: Zach and Florence started working on their first project together – In the Time It Takes to Get There, a short film directed by Zach Braff in which Florence costarred alongside Clueless’s Alicia Silverstone.
April 12, 2019: The duo was seen holding hands for the first time in New York City.
October 10, 2019: Zach hinted in an Instagram post that he’s in love.
November 7, 2019: The duo became Instagram official as Zach Braff posted a photo with Florence enjoying a day out in Disneyland, accompanied by a few friends.
April 6, 2020: Florence celebrated Zach’s 45th birthday, sharing a photo of her boyfriend cuddling with his dog on a rainy day.
“Today we shall smile wider than the clouds are grey. April 6th and we’re celebrating hard!” she captioned the photo. “Happy Birthday wishes, boogies and cheers for this special person. Raise those bubbles and jiggle!”

April 9, 2020: Florence spoke about her age gap with Zach in a four-minute video posted to Instagram. The two had a 21-year age gap.
March 2021: Zach Braff sparked speculation on his and Florence’s marital status when he was spotted wearing a ring on his left hand.
May 2022: Florence addressed dating rumors with Will Poulter after fans speculated her having an affair with her longtime friend. The rumors surfaced after photos of her enjoying a day at the beach with Poulter were shared. Florence denied the dating rumors.
August 2022: Florence confirmed her breakup with Zach.
