Foo Fighters, the American rock band founded by the Nirvana drummer David Grohl, has yet again trolled the Westboro Baptist Church, in Kansas, continuing their decade-long animosity against each other.
On August 5, members of the church, which is infamous for making homophobic and bigoted remarks against the LGBTQ+ community, were seen protesting former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl and his band, while they were gathered outside the amphitheatre.
Prior to the gig, the band was spotted trolling the church outside the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs. while performing a Bee Gees cover.
Various signs that said “God Hates Your Idols”, “Free Will Is A Satanic Lie,” and “God Hates Pride,” were donned by the protesters.
Following the appearance of the picketers, Grohl and his band decided to respond with a performance of the Bee Gees’ song, “You Should Be Dancing”, to encourage love rather than hatred.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I got something to say. Because you know what? I love you,” Grohl told the audience. “The way I look at it, I love everybody. That’s what you’re supposed to do. … I deliver all of my love, and you shouldn’t be hating. You should be dancing.”
