WWE executive and professional wrestler Paul Levesque,
famously known as ‘Triple H’ is recovering from surgery following a “cardiac
event,” the sports entertainment company announced on Wednesday.

“Paul Levesque,
a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven
Hospital following a cardiac event,” WWE stated on their Twitter handle. “The
episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full
recovery.”

Fans and stars reacted
to the news.  Olympic gold medallist
Gable Steveson, who represented Team USA in wrestling at Tokyo Olympics 2020
and is expected to join WWE in the near future, wrote: ‘Praying for my guy.’ along
with a heart emoji.

Hip-Hop Artist Josiah Williams tweeted, “God
Bless you, boss man,” tagging Triple H.

Other Twitter users too wished for his quick recovery. A fan posted, “Get well soon Triple H”

Another described their reaction after seeing the news.

Levesque, 52, is currently the WWE‘s executive vice
president of global talent strategy and development. He’s worked with the
company for almost a decade and is the originator and executive producer of
WWE‘s NXT brand, which acts as the company’s talent development system.

Levesque is most
recognised for his in-ring performances as Triple H, or Hunter Hearst
Helmsley.  In 1995, he made his debut with the company.

He won 14 world
championships in that capacity, as well as the Intercontinental, European, and
tag team titles. He is also a two-time Royal Rumble winner, having won the prestigious
event in both 2002 and 2016, as well as the 1997 King of the Ring tournament.

In 2019, Levesque
was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside fellow DX members Chyna,
X-Pac, Billy Gunn, and Road Dogg.

Levesque married
Stephanie McMahon, WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon’s daughter in 2003. The
couple has three children: Aurora Rose, Murphy Claire, and Vaughn Evelyn.
