While the Cannes Film Festival aims to celebrate cinema, celebrities dressed in haute couture often take away most of the spotlight. This year too, the French city of Cannes is dripped in glitz and glamour as icons walk the red carpet, including Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Here is a rundown of Bollywood icons who made the cameras go on a clicking spree on the first day of the film festival.

1. Deepika Padukone

Padukone, who is a member of the Cannes jury this year, brought Sabyasachi glam to the French Riviera with two ensembles. For the jury photocall, the 36-year-old sported a retro summery shirt-pant outfit from the brand’s Tropic of Calcutta collection and accessorized the look with a heavy necklace.

For her grand jury debut, Padukone opted for a gold and black saree and a strapless blouse. She experimented with the look with dark gothic eyeliner, something that the internet’s fashion clique seems to be divided over.

On the other hand, Siddiqui paired a velvet bow with his black and white tuxedo, a timeless classic that one can never go wrong with.

4. Tamannaah Bhatia

The 32-year-old ‘Baahubali’ star embodied the best of both worlds, with a trendy pastel pantsuit and a gown that takes one back to the old Hollywood era.

Her first outfit, styled by Shaleena Nathani, oozed the idea of summer through a dainty lilac camisole and a green pantsuit. She completed the look with gold hoop earrings and white stilettos.

Her next look consisted of a fit and flare silk halter-neck gown by Delhi-based fashion designer duo- Gauri and Nainika. With side-swept loose curls and diamond earrings, Bhatia made sure her dress goes down in the history of Cannes’ most extravagant looks.
