Sony and
Microsoft are all set to battle it out for dominance in the gaming industry
with both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation
5 releasing recently, in limited markets, and antsy gamers cannot wait to get started on their latest
adventures with their space-age machines.

Sony has by-and-large
dominated the gaming industry in recent years with its massive console sales
and it aims to break further barriers with cutting edge features and the DualSense controller and early projections suggest it is likely to outperform its predecessor.

Microsoft,
on the other hand, could not build on the massive success of the Xbox 360, which
nearly sold as many units as its rival PlayStation 3, with the Xbox One and One
X consoles fizzling out in the market.

What has always
set Sony apart has been the plethora of exclusive titles it offers its users.
From God of War, Marvel’s Spiderman, Unchartered, The Last of Us, and many more,
these beloved series are often the reason gamers choose to stick with the PlayStation.

Here is a
look at a few games that will help get you next-gen gaming underway:

FIFA 21 (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X)

A fresh
version of this EA title is the one constant in an ever-changing world. The newest
edition has some encouraging changes to the stagnated career mode and holds
plenty of promise for other modes such as Pro Clubs, as well as a completely revamped FUT mode. Available across platforms, it will be the
perfect first game to settle in your new console, especially if you’re a
football freak as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (PlayStation 5
and Xbox Series X)

As the name
suggests, the ever-expanding universe of Call of Duty explores the 1980s Cold
War era with its newest addition to the Black Ops series. But be prepared let
it take control of your hard drives, the game takes a whopping 133 and 136
gigabytes of space on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X respectively. Anyways, if
you are a hardcore First-Person Shooter fan, this one is definitely worth a
buy.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (PlayStation 5 and
Xbox Series X)

With Valhalla,
European gaming giants Ubisoft introduce Vikings and Nordic culture to the
beloved Assassin’s Creed franchise. Ubisoft has failed at previous attempts to
completely shift the franchise towards a full-blown open-world, RPG game but fans
and critics seem to agree it has done a pretty good job with Valhalla. Available
across platforms, you can dive right into a leap of faith as Eivor, a legendary
warrior, male or female depending on your preference.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PlayStation
5)

Marvel’s
Spider-Man barnstormed its way to gaming greatness upon its launch in September
2018, selling 3.3 million units in its first three days alone. The game was a
breath of fresh air as it seamlessly combined witty quips, web-slinging and
complex characters into a fun gaming experience. Although it is not a full-fledged game, Spiderman: Miles Morales takes the story forward and unleashes the full potential
of the DualSense controller and is just as impressive as its predecessor.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Xbox Series X)

The eighth
installment in the Yakuza series, this game’s launch has been timed with the
release of the Xbox Series X, with the PlayStation 5 version coming out on March
2, 2021. The game is a classic take on the franchise, with new characters and story,
minigames, combat and a new map and is one of the best the Xbox Series X has to
offer from its initial line-up of games.
