Netflix released the trailer of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery on September 24. The film is a sequel to Knives Out (2019). Writer and director Rian Johnson announced the sequel on Twitter in June.

Netflix will make the film available to stream on December 23, following its release in select theatres in November.

Cast:

Daniel Craig stars in Glass Onion: A Knies Out Mystery along with actors such as Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Kate Hudson, and  Jessica Henwick. 

Talking about why the film is cast the way it is, director Rian Johnson said, “You try to invite people you like,” comparing the process to a dinner party.

Plot:

“A tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) invites some of his nearest and dearest for a getaway on his private Greek island, it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. And when someone turns up dead, well, who better than Blanc to peel back the layers of intrigue?” – An official synopsis reads. 

This makes it clear that the plot is a thriller murder mystery where a bunch of people are invited to an island, who have some secrets of their own. And when one of them turns dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is back to solve this new case.

The trailer shows a group of people excited about solving a puzzle box sent by Miles, the character played by Edward Norton. The group manages to crack the code that opens the box and gets invited to a reunion cruise to an island where they are supposed to solve a murder mystery

Knives Out (2019), the first film of what is turning out to be a series, revolves around detective Benoit Blanc’s investigation into the murder of Harlam Thrombey, a crime novelist. Suspicion rests on Thrombey’s dysfunctional family and the murder is the centrepiece around which the narrative revolves. A whodunnit, the film takes viewers through numerous twists and turns. Audiences expect Glass Onion to be a similarly mind-boggling action-packed puzzle.
