This time around, the story is set far away from England, in Greece at the home of a tech tycoon Miles Bron (Edward Norton), who has invited a number of quirky personalities to his palatial abode to play a game of murder. Although everything begins as fun and games, soon private investigator Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) finds himself in the middle of an actual murder mystery.

The film’s cast includes the likes of Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Kathryn Hahn, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, and Dave Bautista. Stephen Sondheim, a legend on the Broadway stage, as well as Angela Landsbury of Murder, She Wrote fame will be seen for the last time on the silver screen in Glass Onion, after their deaths in November 2021 and October 2022, respectively.

Regarding the film’s story, Johnson said in an interview with TUDUM, the Netflix fan event, “The mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats. Remember first and foremost that you’re making a movie and that it has to dramatically work before it intellectually works as a puzzle. That’s actually still the hard part – creating a good story that feels unique and feels exciting and emotionally feels satisfying at the end.”

Glass Onion can become one of the biggest hits of the streaming platform Netflix this year. It was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where the film received wide critical acclaim. And it also remains to be seen whether Johnson teases the third film of the franchise, which is a part of his $450-million deal with the streaming platform.
