This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Global Citizen Festival, and you can celebrate by taking action to end extreme poverty and seeing some of the renowned artists perform in New York City’s iconic Central Park.

It is a grandiloquent occasion that brings together artists, activists, global leaders, and Global Citizens in order to demand immediate action on the world’s most pressing issues. Dozens of artists have enlisted in the global campaign to empower women, fight climate injustice, ameliorate the world food crisis, and absolve crushing debts, with stages in two iconic locations on Saturday, September 24: New York City’s Central Park and Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana.

Who’s performing at the Global Citizen Festival, New York City? 

Metallica, Charlie Puth, Jonas Brothers, MNESKIN, Mariah Carey, Mickey Guyton, Rosala, Angélique Kidjo, and Billy Porter will spearhead this year’s Global Citizen Festival: NYC. UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and Global Citizen Ambassador,  Priyanka Chopra Jonas, will host the historic event.

Metallica’s drummer and co-founder, Lars Ulrich said, “Music undoubtedly has the power to change the world – and we’ve witnessed this first-hand over the last ten years of Global Citizen’s dedicated efforts.”

“One of the biggest reasons we keep joining this fight with Global Citizen is because we have seen the real-world impact and results of their movement.” the legend added.

The 2022 Global Citizen Festival will be broadcasted and streamed live on ABC, ABC News Live, FX, Hulu, iHeartRadio, TimesLIVE, Twitter, YouTube, and other platforms. ABC News Live will air on Saturday, September 24, and ABC will air a primetime special, Global Citizen Festival: Take Action NOW, on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. CT.

What is the duration of the Festival?

The Global Citizen Festival NYC is taking place in NYC’s Central Park on the Great Lawn. The gates at Central Park will open at 2 p.m. and the show will start at 4 p.m.
