For the fans of Grey’s Anatomy, the good news just keeps on
coming. Although, this time it comes in the form of 320-pages of a book that
give a detailed insight of into the happenings on the set of the hit medical
drama.

The book titled ‘How To Save a Life: The Inside Story of Grey’s
Anatomy’ has been authored by Lynette Rice, who is Entertainment Weekly’s
editor at large. The oral history was published on September 21 and has brought
some appalling instances to light.

While we still can’t be one-hundred percent certain about how much
truth the text holds, it certainly gives us an idea of the stars’ behaviour off
the screen.

Here are some stories that have been discussed in the book:

Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey’s fight on set

Washington was written out of the show after the star got into a
physical altercation with Patrick Dempsey. Apparently, he went after Dempsey,
pushed him against the wall and told him ‘You can’t talk to me the way you talk to that little f***** T.R.’

T.R. Knight was the victim in a
fight between the two stars. Isaiah denied using the gay slur at the 2007
Golden Globe when he was questioned by the press. He wasn’t renewed after season
three of the show and only appeared again to orchestrate Cristina Yang’s departure.

Patrick Dempsey’s departure from
the Show

The actor played Meredith Grey’s
love interest for the first eleven seasons of the medical drama which is why
his departure shocked all the fans of the show. The two were a perfect couple
with kids Zola, Bailey and Ellis.

He had a reduced role in the
eleventh season because of being in Washington on a project. When he eventually
returned to his family, he was killed off in a car accident. A whole chapter
has been dedicated to explaining Patrick’s exit.

His exit has been warranted to the
star having issues with HR and terrorising the set. Shona Rhimes apparently
told ABC that either Dempsey would remain a part of the show or she would. But
there was no way for both of them to work together.

He eventually appeared in the show
once again, in season 17 when he met Meredith in her Covid-19 induced dreams.

These two instances have made the
most noise surrounding the show and Rice’s book certainly gives the fans some
clarity on the instances.

Several other revelations have been made in the book
and it is a good read for all the people who have been a part of the medical
drama’s journey.
