The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a multiverse with many complex threads that connect one piece to another. But in Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, one real-life actor finally manages to become a part of the MCU as well, and this is none other than Kevin Bacon.
In the special, we see Mantis and Drax hearing a sad story about their captain Peter Quill’s childhood, when the latter was told by his adoptive father Yondu that he hates Christmas.

This makes Mantis and Drax decide that they need to do something to bring back the Christmas cheer for Quill. It is Mantis who then suggests that they should gift Peter a hero who has saved numerous lives, and the one they zoom on to is none other the Footloose star, Kevin Bacon.
Drax and Mantis then decide to visit Los Angeles and bring Bacon back as a present for Quill. They even meet many people along the way who are dressed like various Marvel characters.
The duo are then given a map of the houses of Hollywood celebrities by an old woman who takes pity on them, and this is how they finally manage to locate Bacon’s residence. They go up to the house, trash Bacon’s Christmas decorations, and ask him to come along with them. When the actor refuses, Mantis puts a spell on him.

They bring Bacon to their spaceship, and although Peter is excited to meet the Hollywood star, he is angry with Mantis and Drax for kidnapping the actor. He asks Mantis to break the spell on Bacon, which she does. As soon as he comes back to his senses, the actor is flabbergasted to see where he is.
However, Mantis and Drax even explain to Bacon that his actions in Footlose were an inspiration for Peter, who then ended up saving the galaxy.
On hearing this, Bacon calms down and agrees to help them. Before leaving, he even promises the team that he would be back for Christmas.
