Guillermo del Toro’s new television series Cabinet of Curiosities is out on Netflix. It premiered on the streaming platform on 25th October. Cabinet of Curiosities is a horror anthology created by del Toro, a modern take on classical horror stories, and features eight stories. Two of the episodes were co-written and directed by Guillermo del Toro himself, the rest were written and directed by various filmmakers.

The series premiered on Netflix on October 25, 2020 

Cast – 

The series features an ensemble cast, some of which have collaborated with del Toro in the past. Famous stars such as Kevin Keppy, Lize Johnston, Megan Many, Ish Morris, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Geena Davis, Sofia Boutella, Andrew Lincoln, Kate Micucci, Crispin Glover, Ben Barnes, Essie Davis, DJ Qualls, Rupert Grint, and Tim Blake Nelson can be seen in the show.

Plot- 

The show features eight specifically curated stories which redefine the existing horror genre by featuring unconventional elements. This series has borrowed a plot line from Guillermo del Toro‘s celebrated short story Cabinet of Curiosities. 

Production- 

Guillermo del Toro along with J. Miles Dale, and Gary Ungar serve as the executive producers of this horror anthology. Del Toro himself served as a writer for two episodes and handpicked the directors for the rest of them. 

Principal photography began on June 28, 2021 under the working title Guillermo del Toro Presents: 10 After Midnight in Toronto. It concluded on February 16, 2022.

Reviews- 

The series has garnered an IMDB rating of 8.8 at the time of writing the report, which indicated a favourable response from the audience. Rotten Tomatoes reported a 90% approval rating with an average rating of 8/10, based on 10 critic reviews.
