Mahesh Babu
is a Tollywood actor who found his place in the industry when he was 4 with
‘Needa’ in 1979. Also known as ‘Prince of Tollywood’, ‘Superstar’, ‘Naani’,
Mahesh bagged eight roles in Tollywood as a child artist. 

These movies
and a very influential family name led him to his debut as a lead actor in
‘Raja Kumarudu’ opposite Bollywood actor Preity Zinta in 1999. 

He managed
to win the State Nandi Award for Best Male Debut for this film. That’s not all,
he was also officially crowned Tollywood’s Prince by the media.

actor has been a part of the industry for more than 40 years now.

1. Pokiri

‘Pokiri’ is
Mahesh Babu’s one of the best movies. The action-packed movie is based on a
ruffian named Krishna Manohar IPS (Pandu), played by Mahesh Babu.

Pandu is a
fierce goon and a merciless killer, who switches sides between two rival gangs
for money. Over the course of the movie, he ends up earning attention from a
big gangster, a corrupt cop’s enmity, and also the love of the girl he likes.

If you are
wondering why this story sounds like that of a Bollywood flick – it is because
Salman Khan’s ‘Wanted’ was a remakes of ‘Pokiri’. You can watch the movie on

2. Dookudu

In
‘Dookudu’, Mahesh Babu can be seen essaying the character of a police officer,
who is on a mission to kill a gangster named Nayak. His lies lead to a series
of comical events and a fake reality show, created to prevent his ill father
from knowing the truth about his job. 

In the film,
he takes down villains by putting his life at risk. This one is also available

3. Murari

This supernatural
drama movie written and directed by Krishna Vamsi is another must-watch films
of Mahesh Babu. ‘Murar’ also features Sonali Bendre, Lakshmi, Sukumari, Kaikala,
and Satyanarayana in pivotal roles. In fact, it is Sonali Bendre’s Telugu debut.

The movie
revolves around the happy-go-lucky Murari – whose Zamindar ancestors have been
victims of Goddess Durga’s generational curse since the mid-19th century.

In the
movie, after every 48 years, the Royal Family’s heirs lose their life due to
the curse. The film deals with
Murari’s redemption to overcome the curse through his spiritual will, and

4. Maharshi

‘Maharshi’
is Mahesh Babu’s 25th cinematic venture. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the
movie revolves around Rishi, a millionaire businessman, who after becoming the
CEO of US-based software company returns to India to champion the cause of
agriculture and the country’s farmers. The film at its heart is a strong social
drama with many gripping moments. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video.

5. Bharat
Ane Nenu

‘Bharat Ane
Nenu’ stars Mahesh Babu, Kiara Advani, and Prakash Raj in the pivotal roles.
The film is about the journey of Bharat, a student who becomes the Chief
Minister of an undivided Andhra Pradesh. 

In the
movie, Babu can be seen trying his best to eradicate corruption from the
government offices. The political drama is set against the backdrop of a sweet
love story. The flick is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Mahesh Babu
will soon be seen in ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’, directed by Parasuram and
bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. The film marks the reunion of Mahesh Babu
and S Thaman after seven years. 

The makers
have not yet revealed the rest of the cast and crew for the film. After this,
Mahesh Babu will be collaborating with SS Rajamouli.
