According to Page Six, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “extremely upset and shaken” following a “near-catastrophic” paparazzi chase in New York City on Tuesday night.
After leaving the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan, where the former actress was recognized by Gloria Steinem at the Women of Vision Awards, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were chased by reporters in blacked-out vehicles. The couple was accompanying Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland.
Around 10 p.m., the trio reportedly departed the event in an SUV, and 12 paparazzi reportedly followed them there.
According to a source, during the “near-fatal” chase, one cameraman struck a car, while another came dangerously close to running over an NYPD officer. Harry recorded the next brawl on his cell phone while in the taxi.
Social media users have spread some wild conspiracy theories in response to this tragedy.

According to Page Six, the security was also recording in order to collect proof.
Police officers in uniform approached the paparazzi, but the latter disregarded their warnings and kept pursuing the group, according to Page Six.
According to a spokesperson for the Sussexes, “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi. This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians, and two NYPD officers. While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety,” according to Page Six.

Page Six describes the event as “absolutely shocking” and claims that Ragland, 66, was particularly “terrified” by the experience. Following the terrifying incident, Meghan’s mother and her husband are staying in New York City.
When they will return to their residence in California, where they reside with their children, 1-year-old Princess Lilibet and 4-year-old Prince Archie, is unknown.
In the midst of Harry’s legal dispute with the UK government regarding security for him and his family, an event happened hours after Harry was informed that UK police are not available for hire.
According to the UK Home Office, the proposal to pay for his police protection would put wealthy people in a position where they could “buy” Protective Security from specialized police officers.
