Hilary Swank, an American actor, announced her pregnancy on talk show Good Morning America. She is expecting twins with her husband Philip Schneider.

The actor debuted with a minor role in the film Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992). Apart from being an actor, Swank is a producer, philanthropist, and owner of a luxury clothing line.

Boys Don’t Cry (1999)

Directed by Kimberley Peirce, Boys Don’t Cry is an American biographical film. It was based on the real-life story of Brandon Teena who is portrayed by Hilary Swank. 

The story revolves around a native American trans man who searches for himself and his love, Lana Tisdel (Chloe Sevigny) in Nebraska. The movie dramatises Teena’s life and depicts how he falls victim to a hate crime committed by two of his acquaintances. 

Million Dollar Baby (2004)

The American sports drama film was directed by Clint Eastwood. This movie was based on a 2000 collection of short stories Rope Burns: Stories from the Corner, written by Jerry Boyd who was a boxing trainer. 

In this Oscar-winning film, Swank plays the character of Margaret “Maggie” Fitzgerald, a waitress turned professional boxer. Maggie’s transformation from an underdog amateur boxer to a professional boxer after training with Eastwood, an underrated boxing trainer, is worth watching.

The Core (2003)

The Core is an American sci-fi disaster film which was directed by Jon Amiel. The film cast includes Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Delroy Lindo, and Stanley Tucci. Swank plays the role of Major Rebecca “Beck” Childs, an astronaut. 

The movie showcases a team of scientists who are aiming to drill to the centre of the Earth and how they cause a series of nuclear explosions, attempting to restart the rotation of the Earth’s core. 

The Homesman (2014)

Set in the 1850s Midwest, The Homesman is a Western historical drama directed by Tommy Lee Jones. It is based on a 1988 novel by Glendon Swarthout, having the same name. The film stars Jones himself and Hilary Swank as the main characters. 

The plot of this film takes its audience back to 1854. Mary Bee Cuddy, a former teacher, who is a 31-year-old maiden from New York, has travelled to Midwest for more opportunities. The story showcases the struggles of women and how they are served justice in those times. The film received positive reviews from critics and Swank was appreciated for her performance.

Fatale (2020)

A suspenseful, psychological thriller film directed by Deon Taylor, Fatale stars Hilary Swank, Michael Ealy, Mike Colter, and Danny Pino. 

The movie is about a married sports agent Derrick, who finds himself under suspicion in a murder scheme after a one-night stand in Las Vegas. He ends up risking his career and life as he falls deeper into the trap. Detective Val Quinlan in the film is portrayed by Hilary Swank.
