JLo is the star of Marry Me, but how many times has she been married?

Jennifer Lopez, a singer, actress, and dancer, has been involved in several high-profile romances throughout her career, most recently her on-again, off-again relationship with Ben Affleck, with whom she was previously engaged from 2002 to 2004 and who started the celebrity portmanteau trend with the “Bennifer” tabloid craze. The pair is now married.

That brings her marriage count up to four.

Her first marriage lasted from February 1997 to January 1998 to Cuban waiter Ojani Noa. According to MTV News, she successfully sued her ex-husband for breach of contract in 2007 after he attempted to release a tell-all memoir about their brief marriage. In 2009, she also obtained a permanent injunction against Noa when Noa attempted to sell home footage from their honeymoon.

JLo’s second marriage was to former backup dancer Cris Judd, who performed in her music video for “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” after a high-profile romance with record producer and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs from 1999 to early 2001. They hitched in September 2001 but divorced in June 2002, eight months later.

Lopez’s marriage to Grammy-winning musician Marc Anthony lasted from 2004 until 2014, and they had two children. The couple appears to be pals, co-parenting their children and publicly supporting one other. “They’re still extremely close; he’s one of her biggest cheerleaders,” reported HollywoodLife. “All he wants is for her to be happy.”

Lopez claimed in a YouTube video about her marital history, “I’ve been married three times and once was nine months and once was 11 months so I don’t really count those.”

“I was married to Marc for 10 years with the kids,” she said. “I was very young the first two times I tried to get married. I’m saying tried to!”

“It seems like in this life, like you’re always surrounded by people, you’re never lonely,” she remarked. “But it’s very lonely. And so you always want somebody with you. Somebody. And so I felt like if I got married, I felt like I would always have somebody. But that’s not how life works. That’s not how it goes. It’s a bad reason to get married! Not the right one. The wrong one! The right one is when you find somebody who really makes you better.”

Lopez and Affleck met on the set of the romantic comedy “Gigli” in 2002, when she was still married to her second husband, dancer Cris Judd. According to USA Today, the couple made their romance public immediately after Lopez’s divorce from Judd.

Affleck and Lopez quickly became tabloid darlings, and were dubbed “Bennifer,” the iconic conjunction of Affleck’s and Lopez’s first names.

“We didn’t try to have a public relationship. We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like ‘Oh my God.’ It was just a lot of pressure,” Lopez said in an interview with People magazine in 2016.

The couple reunited in 2021 and is now married in a Las Vegas ceremony.
