Sonu Sood rules over millions of hearts.

Born on 30 July 1973 in Moga, Punjab, the actor celebrated his 49th birthday earlier this week.

Almost everyone has become a fan of the way he helped people during the COVID-19 pandemic. After watching a film, one can become a fan of an actor, but if the actor changes one’s life for the better, quite literally, then one can.

If you search the name of Sonu Sood on the internet, images of him helping people in need come up more often than images of his professional work.

Some narrate the pain of loss of employment, while some describe the lack of money for serious treatment. Someone asks for a mobile phone for studies and a sewing machine for employment. Whoever sought help from Sonu Sood across the country has got all possible help from Sonu Sood’s Sood Charity Foundation. This started in the first phase of the coronavirus outbreak when he came forward to help the migrant labourers get home. During the difficult days of the second phase of the lockdown, when people were not getting medicine and oxygen cylinders, the actor arranged for medicine and oxygen cylinders. The result of this generosity made Sonu a messiah in the eyes of the people.

What motivates Sonu Sood?

The terror of the Covid-19 outbreak created such an uproar in the lockdown that people somehow came out on the streets to go to their respective homes. With no means of conveyance, people either walked or bicycled long distances. Many and no food to eat or water to drink.

Sonu confessed during one of his interviews that, “It hurt me to see people with families, especially migrant labourers struggling to reach their own homes. I thought that something should be done for them, because the houses in which we live, the roads we walk on, and the studios in which we work, were made by all these labourers. This thought gave me the courage and strength to help.”
