Actor Hugh Grant was trolled for his ‘painful’ Oscars 2023 red carpet interview with Ashley Graham. The 95th Academy Awards are taking place t the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood in Los Angeles.

Grant was pulled aside by Graham on the champagne carpet. The 62-year-old was asked if he was rooting for any of the nominees. He replied saying ‘ no one in particular’. The hostess then asked him if he was wearing a label or designer that he wanted to give a shoutout to.

He said he’s ‘just wearing my suit’.

His answers were termed as ‘rude’ by social media users.

Graham also brought up Grant’s  recent project: Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The British actor said that it must have been fun working on a project like that and he responded saying he was only in the movie for a few seconds.

“Ashley Graham interviewing Hugh Grant is the most awkward piece of television in 2023 and I’m living for it. #Oscars,” a Twitter user said.

“Ok that interview just now with Hugh Grant was painful,” another one added.

“Watching Hugh Grant give that bizarre red carpet interview made my teeth itch,” a third one tweeted.

Meanwhile, there was a lot of chatter on social media about singer Rihanna skipping the red carpet. The Super Bowl 2023 performer was seen entering the venue in a casual grey-colored T-shirt dress. She paired it with shoes and olive colored hat.

Rihanna will be performing Lift Me Up from the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the Oscars 2023. The song is nominated in the best original song category.
