Salman Khan, who turned 56 today, was bit by a snake on Saturday night at his farmhouse in Panvel. He was later taken to the hospital in Navi Mumbai’s Kamothe and was discharged the next morning.

Salman’s father Salim Khan said that the snake was later set free once it was determined the reptile was non-venomous. “We were definitely worried when it happened and Salman rushed to the nearest medical centre to get an injection that is needed in such cases. Thankfully it turned out that the snake was not poisonous,” he said, according to reports from ETimes.

Salman Khan reportedly went back to his farmhouse near Panvel in the adjoining Raigad district after the incident, where he will be celebrating his 56th birthday on Monday.
