BTS made history when they became the first Korean pop band to earn a nomination at the Grammys and performed at music’s biggest stage. The seven-member boy band has been nominated under the Best pop duo/group performance category alongside Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber. A tough competition, indeed. However, they lost to Lady Gaga.

During an interview just after they received the nomination, BTS said that they were preparing really hard for performing at the Grammys and are looking forward to creating history. However, they did mention that performing at the Grammy means more to them than winning.

“Performance is what, we want more. Even than a nomination or winning,” V said in an interview with USA Today.

BTS’ Dynamite was nominated along with chartbusters like Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s ‘Rain on Me’, Taylor Swift and Bon Iver’s ‘Exile’ and Justin Bieber and Quavo’s ‘Intentions’ and J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Dua Lipa’s ‘Un Dia (One Day).

The song has broken multiple records ever since its August 21, 2020 release. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making BTS the first all-South Korean act to top the Hot 100.

The song has already made three Guinness World Records with its YouTube views, won two gongs at People’s Choice Awards, one trophy at MTV Europe Music Awards and several other wins at the award show in South Korea and Japan.

Having started out as a hip-hop group, their music has evolved with the evolving trends.

BTS is currently the most popular K-pop group to have ever come out of South Korea, with a massive global fanbase. They also became the first non-Western talent to be named the best-selling artists of 2020 by the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry).

Till now, they have released many hits in the 8 years, winning 5 Billboard Music Awards, 6 American Music Awards, and 6 MTV Video Music Awards so far.
