Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the creators of American television series ‘Glee’, have announced that they are going to create a college fund for the show’s late actor Naya Rivera’s four-year-old son.

The announcent came following the 33-year-old’s accidental death after drowning at Lake Piru of California. She was confirmed death by the local authorities on Monday, days after she went missing while going for boating in the lake with her son. The news shocked the cast and crew of ‘Glee’ and they came to pay tributes.

The creators of ‘Glee’ described Naya as a friend they “lucked into finding”, in a moving tribute, according to a statement released by them.

“Naya wasn’t a series regular when we cast her on Glee. She didn’t have more than a few lines in the pilot. But it didn’t take more than an episode or two for us to realize that we had lucked into finding one of the most talented, special stars we would ever have the pleasure of working with,” the statement read.

“Our hearts go out to her family, especially her mom, Yolanda, who was a big part of the ‘Glee’ family, and her son Josey,” they wrote. “The three of us are currently in the process of creating a college fund for the beautiful son Naya loved most of all.”

Naya was best-known for her character Lopez in ‘Glee’. She had received several nominations at award shows like Grammys. She joined the television industry as a toddler appearing in several advertisements. Before working at ‘Glee’, the actor had featured in many television shows.
