Alia Bhatt is starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi.  Alia and the cast are in Berlin for the international premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. 

Alia Bhatt attended Day 2 of the festival in a white saree and her Gangubai style wowed the crowd. Alia was posing with fans on the red carpet when she turned and did her backward namaste posture, which became popular after the Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer was released. One of Alia Bhatt’s fan pages shared the video.

Alia Bhatt also uploaded images from the red carpet, where she wore a white saree with fringes and looked lovely. Her ensemble was finished by statement earrings, a neat bun, and flowers in her hair. Alia captioned the pictures with white heart emojis on Instagram. The saree worn by Alia Bhatt was designed by Rimple and Harpreet Narula.

While promoting her forthcoming film, Alia Bhatt has been striking the reverse namaste pose. Not just Alia, but her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor applauded her by doing the backward namaste pose when the Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer was released. Alia Bhatt called Ranbir the “best boyfriend ever” after seeing his reaction.

Alia Bhatt will play a real-life sex worker who rose to political power and fame in Kamathipura, Mumbai’s red-light district. Pen India Limited, owned by Jayantilal Gada, produced the film. Ajay Devgn and Shantanu Maheshwari play significant roles in the film.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter from author Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai and will be released on February 25. Alia Bhatt will next be seen in S S Rajamouli’s RRR. The actress will also be starring in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh.
