Big Pokey, a great rapper whose name is well-known in the music business, is rumored to have passed away. Although we haven’t received any official news, multiple outlets are making the allegation.

Online reports claim that Big Pokey died today, 18th June 2023. Allegedly, the paramedics attempted CPR on him after he passed out during his performance tonight in Beaumont, Texas, but were unsuccessful.

News of Pokey’s alleged passing spread through like wildfire on social media, and a lot of people posted tweets expressing their grief for his reported death. A user commented, “Can’t believe I’m saying this but RIP Big Pokey a real Texas legend !!” while another said, “Man they saying on fb #bigpokey passed I can’t believe it I’m hoping that aint true I always fucked wit his music man I’m praying that aint true!”

A third person said, “Y’all weird & insensitive tryna attach rip next to that man name.. especially if his family hasn’t confirmed anything. Still praying for Big Pokey.”

Beginning in the early 1990s, American rapper Big Pokey collaborated with Houston producers DJ Screw and DJ PRIMETIME to release music on a number of DJ Screw’s mixtapes. A significant album in chopped and screwed hip hop, DJ Screw’s mixtape “June 27th Freestyle” included Big Pokey.
