Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford reportedly broke up within a year of dating. Several social media users wondered if Ava Capri was the reason behind their split and the ‘Bad Guy’ singer is gay.

Eilish and Capri were seen ‘cozying up’ after Met Gala this year. Page Six and TMZ, citing sources, reported that neither the singer nor Rutherford have cheated.

“scared for ava capri tbh 😭 i feel like all those homophobic, anti-gay billie type old people are gonna be in her comments. literally any time billie is near a woman there’s assumptions,” a Twitter user said.

Ava Capri is queer. Eilish, however, has shrugged off all speculation about her being gay.

In a new interview with Elle, Eilish responded to the speculation about her sexuality.

“Like, oh yeah, that’s everyone else’s business, right? No. Where’s that energy with men?” the singer said.

Eilish added that she never wanted the focus on her personal life.

“I just wanted to make a song once, and then I kept making songs. I never said: ‘Hey, pay attention to my life.’ All my friends know I don’t wanna see any of [the negative chatter]. When people send me something mean, it hurts my soul.”

The singer further said that she wishes that she didn’t have to maintain an online presence.

“I’m jealous of people who don’t have it. I really wish that there was a way to avoid it. Literally delete my account but still have contact with the fans. I want to be able to have both, but you can’t.”

Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford first sparked dating rumors in October 2022. They went official in November. The former couple was last seen at the Coachella Music Festival.

We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends,” Eilish’s representative told Page Six on Wednesday.
