After legendary talk show host, Jerry Springer died Thursday at his home in suburban Chicago at 79, after being diagnosed with cancer, fans of another legendary show, The Price Is Right, are concerned if their idol, Bob Barker is still alive.

“Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word,” said Jene Galvin, a lifelong friend and spokesman for the family. “He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart, and humor will live on.”

Back when The Price is Right Live was a stage show in Las Vegas and not the popular program that people recognize it to be today, Springer hosted the show.

At the time, Springer was riding at the peak of his success, having hosted his hit talk show The Jerry Springer Show for 21 seasons by then. His agenda was to capitalize on the show’s stunning popularity by appearing in Sin City. “I had so much fun hosting the show last year, and look forward to once again inviting excited guests to ‘come on down’ and play for money and prizes!” Springer said in a statement at the time.

Despite his statement, Springer did not migrate over to The Price is Right than Springer, and instead stuck to the stage show. Meanwhile, Drew Carey hosted the TV show. Springer hosted the show again in 2018.

Meanwhile, Barker hosted CBS’ The Price Is Right from 1972 to 2007. The following are a few reactions of Barker’s fans’ growing concerns after Springer’s death:
