A tweet suggesting that Bryan Cranston, the Breaking Bad actor has died made the rounds recently and fans were shocked by the announcement. In reality, however, it was just a death hoax that many celebrities are slowly falling victim to.

The tweet originally came from a Facebook post that claimed that the actor had died at the age of 67. “At about 11 a.m. ET on Thursday (March 9, 2023), our beloved actor Bryan Cranston passed away. Bryan Cranston was born on March 7, 1956, in Canoga Park. He will be missed but not forgotten,” the post said. It ended with a request for fans to leave likes and comments to convey “sympathy and condolences.”

The post quickly went viral on the social media platform. People on the internet were shocked at the news and also flooded the post with comments. The page publicized the news with the name “R.I.P Bryan Cranston” which made the speculation more believable to fans.

The post eventually found its way to Twitter where a user called BigPutruck, posted a black and white image of the actor and wrote in the tweet: “Bryan Cranston, aged, 67, peacefully passed away this morning in his sleep. He shall now rest in peace.”

Cranston, however, is alive and well. he posted a commercial for Ford on International Women’s Day that was narrated by him on social media. He also revealed that he and his wife Robin were making a donation to a women’s organization.

If Cranston had really died, mainstream media outlets would have been the first to publish the information. Spokespersons for the actor would have also announced the news on his social media accounts.
