The seventh season of Good Witch averages a 0.12 ratings
Fans of the TV series Good watch are worried as the program might ultimately be canceled for the eighth season. The show airs on the Hallmark Channel which stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. The show is about these fictional characters who reside in the fictional town of Middleton, the story revolves around Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale and her daughter Grace.
Cassie is the owner of a shop called Bell, Book &Candle and the mother duo shares an inherited gift of enchanted intuition and supernatural insight that they use to solve problems and navigate life inside their small community.
Although the Hallmark channel series has had a pretty good run throughout its seasons, the show has been on air since 2008. Good Witch is currently in the seventh season with an average rating of 0.12 in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 million viewers. The numbers seem to have taken a bit of a dive since season 6. According to the Series Finale, the numbers have gone down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership.
Mike Hale of the New York Times mentioned that the show consistently places in second cable rating live numbers. He called the show a gentle, sentimental primetime fable set in an idealized Middle American small city, which can be watched with parents or grandparents.
There could be several reasons for this. There are chances that Hallmark is waiting to see the live+3 figures before they’re deciding to put out season 8. Though there hasn’t been any announcement from the network whether Good Witch will be renewed or canceled, it seems to remain one of its popular programs.
There are five cast members in the show that have remained constant since season one, where Sarah Power as Abigail has grown considerably since the show’s first season, she only made appearances but then went on to become a series regular character throughout season 2 to 7. The show is available on Netflix up to the first five seasons and the new episodes air on the Hallmark Channel on Sundays at 9 p.m. EST.
