Australian actor Hugh Jackman is most likely to come to mind when you think about his character Wolverine. Is the actor, however, returning as the fan-favorite character?

Having played him for over two decades, the actor is associated with the X-Men character. When Wolverine/Logan died at the end of 2017’s heart-wrenching ‘Logan,’ the actor’s swan song to the beloved character, Jackman also hung up his adamantine claws.

However, in a recent Instagram post, Jackman hinted that he could reprise his role as Wolverine. On his Instagram story, he shared two photos referencing Marvel, including a piece of fan art by Bosslogic and a photo of Jackman with Kevin Feige. In another post, he paid his respects to the late Richard Donner.

It’s worth noting that it isn’t guaranteed that Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine. It’s strange, though, that he posted Wolverine fan art yesterday and then a photo of himself with Feige today. It’s possible that the actor may make a brief cameo appearance before passing the torch to a younger actor.

This is especially probable given that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been laying the groundwork for a broader multiverse storyline — with Loki introducing the concept of the multiverse and alternate timelines — allowing characters like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to make cameos. In other words, Logan’s return in one of these or another MCU film might happen, even if it’s only for a cameo appearance.

In April, Hugh Jackman had almost been persuaded by Marvel studio executives to reprise his role, according to reports. The actor previously stated that the character is no longer alive in the continuity and that he will not return. The Wolverine, according to the MCU’s top brass, will have no ties to the previous timeline.

The actor might potentially appear in Ryan Reynolds’ next film ‘Deadpool 3,’ which is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the year 2000, Jackman made his screen debut as Wolverine as a supporting character in the first X-Men film. He’d reprise the character in a number of sequels and standalone films, and by the time he featured in Logan 17 years later, he’d established himself as one of the most popular superhero actors.

Jackman debuted in the role of Wolverine in the year 2000 as a featured player in the original X-Men. He’d reprise the role in a series of sequels and solo movies, and 17 years later, he had become one of the most popular superhero actors by the time he starred in Logan. His long run in the role has also scored Jackman a Guinness World Record for the longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero. Without a doubt, it’s difficult to see anybody else playing Wolverine at this point.
