Johnny Depp may soon make a comeback to play the renowned role of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, according to reports.
Johnny Depp last appeared in the fifth and last installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, which helped launch him to stardom. According to reports, the spin-off will be titled A Day At The Sea.
According to Sun, Johnny Depp will be making a comeback and the filming will start on February 2023 at a location near the United Kingdom. The project is still in its pre-production stage and Disney has not yet revealed the director of the spin-off series.
A source close to the project also revealed, “Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow and is scheduled to start filming at the beginning of February at a top-secret location in the UK.”
The source also said, “A call sheet has been distributed among those in the know. Bruce Hendricks, who worked on the first three films, is named as the Executive Producer on the new project”.
“All the other details are being kept under lock and key. The whole project is shrouded in secrecy and Disney want to keep everything under wraps as best they can.”
Though there has been much speculation about his comeback in the show, Johnny Depp is yet to give an official confirmation regarding his role.

Depp was let go from the Disney franchise in 2018 because the producers wanted to bring “new vitality” into the film. However, according to various reports from earlier this year, Executives reportedly wanted to bring Johnny Depp back, on a $300 million deal that included a sixth movie and a Disney Plus spin-off series.
