Singer Brendon Urie on Tuesday announced that he and his wife Sarah Orzechowski Urie are expecting their first baby. The 35-year-old further added that he is parting ways with pop band Panic! at the Disco after its forthcoming European tour.

“I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more,” Brendon Urie said on social media.

Panic! at the Disco was started in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004 by childhood friends Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. After all others left, it became Brendon’s solo project.

“Well, it’s been a hell of a journey…Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way. But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure,” Brendan said in a note posted on Instagram.

Urie married Sarah Orzechowski on April 27, 2013, after announcing their engagement in September 2011. In 2018, he came out as pansexual.

“I’m married to a woman and I’m very much in love with her but I’m not opposed to a man because to me, I like a person. Yeah I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don’t care. I guess this is me coming out as pansexual,” he said in an interview.

However, several fans on social media took him as gay. After Brendon Urie announced his pregnancy, the gay comments came up again.

“what do you mean brendon urie is going to be a father, i thought he was gay,” a Twitter user wrote.

“The group was only Brendon and what surprises me the most is not the separation, but that Urie is going to be a father. I always thought I was gay 🤭” another one added.

“And Brendon Urie as the first male prince in a fairy tale who is gay. Very specific but necessary,” a third one said.
