Romanian vocalist Iulia Vantur has recently been in the spotlight for her collaboration with Guru Randhawa on the music track ‘Main Chala’. The music video features actor Salman Khan and Pragya Jaiswal, along with glimpses of Randhawa and Vantur singing the track.

Initially known for being Salman Khan’s rumoured romantic partner, Vantur has stepped out of Khan’s shadow to pursue singing.

In an interview with ETimes, the Romanian singer opened up about her dynamic with the actor. “He is such a great person first of all and a great actor and experienced in the field. When you are around him, you learn so much”, she said.

Vantur added that she aspires to establish her own identity in the industry, stating, “I feel for me, at the moment, I wanted to work on my own identity. I am working on that, especially because people don’t know me so well here and I think it is important to do that.”

The 41-year-old further shared how challenging it initially is to create an identity for oneself, after being linked to an acclaimed actor. Sharing the experience, Vantur added, “You have to put in the extra effort. Of course, it comes with advantages and disadvantages. The visibility is there, and it helps a lot. And as I said, his input, his experience helps a lot, but in the end, you have to put extra, extra effort to make a mark of your own for people to know you for your work and as Iulia, and not as someone who is associated with another person. I think everyone wants that, to be respected for their work.”

Elucidating her experience of working on the recent track, Vantur expressed gratitude for its success.
